In more ways than one. The summer has turned out to be crazy busy with no end in sight until recently!! Witht he fall and the change in time, weather, and color brings us to the all important NaNoWriMo. I can not believe it has already been a year since I have started the idea for my first novel and that I completed it. Nope still no accepted agents to my book but that is okay. I enjoy the fact that I created a world and characters that i still think about on a daily basis. They still tend to pop back in which makes me believe that I am not done telling there stories yet.
Well, now that Novemeber is quickly approaching it is time to begin thinking about what crazy and fun world to create next. Still poking around ideas but nothing is hitting me. As far as FanFiction, I have decided that it was time to take a break. With my busy work and family scehdule it is not feasible for me right now. I want to thank all of you for reading all of my FanFiction and the comments. Please keep an eye on me here. I am also beginning to Twit and you can find me under my same screen name: luv2beloved
As soon as I get some info together I will be posting it here!
Okay, so it has been a few weeks and alot has happened over the course of a few weeks. First off my novel: 17 queries have been sent out 13 rejections and get this....1 requests to see teh first 100 pages! I am beyond syched!
Now on to other news, I am slowly moving around my other ideas and trying to get some more work in progress which I know will some of the information that the agent will be interested in.
Have a great night all and I will keep you all posted!
I have officially made it through my seond round of editing and have sent it off to my friend Charley who has been awesome at helping me out. Now for some stats: 7 Queries sent: All Emal: No Snail Mail: and 5 (2 of which were very nive and helpful!) rejections. But I am far from giving up and will be priting off my final copy to actually set it aside for a little while before taking another look at it. But in the mean time I have moved to TN from GA and have opened up a restuarant with my parents which has been taking up most of my time. Have finally found soem time to sit down this past week of Easter week and began writing again with a focus of completeing 1k of words every day. My second novel is currently in the 25 K mark with along ways to go, and I can already see a difference in writing style. THis second one is actually based off of my idea of Right or Wrong Fanfiction, but instead of vampires adn Werewolves there is another supernatural focre out there. It is going to be borderline YA and Adult.
Okay back to typing away and I will keep you all updated. If nothing else I will be self publishing my first novel so that you all will be able to get your hands on it yourself! As well as possibilites for a sequel, which is the way I left the ending!
I know that I have not posted in a while. I have been extremely busy! Gettign ready to open my own restuarunt!! Check it out at www.prospectorsdiningcompany.com!!
I am here and still chugging along!! I have been making some major edits and changes and as of last count my first novel is up to about 90k and over 250 pages. This is turning out to be a huge accomplishement. I have a plan to have the first full edited draft done by this weekend and and into the grateful and waiting hands of my firends Charley, who has been awesome at allowing me to bounce off ideas and such.
I have also decided that I will be sending off some query letters to a few dozen agents and if I do not here anything I will plan on self publishing this first novel on my own. I think that all of you at least deserve to read it!
And it won't stop!! So, I know that it has been along time since I have blogged and I have attempted several times with getting booted off, fingers crossed it will not happen again - or at least not right now!!
So, on the novel front, I have to give a huge shout out to my awesome new best friend, Charley, who has been pulling long hours and helping me out by editing my novel and I have also sent out the first 20 pages to an agent and doing the waiting game. However since sending them one of my other Main Characters have been screaming in my head to let him tell his own story which weaves in and out of the MC Female all of which is told from First perspective!!
And that is where I am currently, writing basically another whole novel and then weaving it into my current to make one HUGE novel!!
I have also started on my mermaids and re-vamped that entire plot!! I think it is going to be a very busy year for me!! And since I enjoyed NaNoWriMo so much I am going to attempt to pound out about 50K worth of words every 6 weeks or so beginning with Feb.1
My Fanfiction stories have slowed down drastically, mostly because I think I am beginning ot get bored with writing them and want to focus solely on my own work. So for those of you that are reading my fics, I will be updating just not as frequently as I normally do.
Well, it is official the editing process has begun for my first novel and I am very excited about it!! I went to Kinkos adn had them print off the 197 pages (and 76,890 words) that I wrote and spiraled bound it. It is such an accomplishment to see it like that even though it stil has a long ways to go. I have sent a copy via email to a couple of my faithful Fanfiction Reviewers who are now helping to turn this book of coal into a book of diamonds and believe me I think it will be a very daunting task!!
I have also officially started my next project, picking up my mermaid story which has had a major overall since posting a few snippets and character bios. They have had name changes, title changes, and characteristic changes, basically a whole new story!! But I think this one will be very exciting to read when I finish it. I am going to work on my own personal NaNo since I have enjoyed the time crunch of writing in thirty days. So with any luck I will have another novel completed by the end of January to begin working on editing!
I figure keep alot of projects going while I send off a few as they finish and maybe one day something will end up on the shelves!!
Wow, the last time I posted I was around the 5k mark on day three of NaNoWriMo and here it is the day before Thanksgiving adn I have made it past teh 50k word count requirement to win NaNo. I am so excited that I cannot even begin to tell you what it feels like to know that I have written 3/4 of a novel in under thirty days!!
Note the 3/4 of a completed novel. Yep, I am no where near done with the story still a lot of lose ends to tie up and it is just beginning to to get really good. Lyra is dealing well with her HIV status and has accepted it. She has moved to a small town in Alaska (which I did choose a real town). She managed to keep playing volleyball for her new school has taken the team to State.
A love interest has shown up with a secret of his own that she happened to stumble upon. Sparks going to start flying and the Queen Bee (um actually Bitch) of the school and volleyball teammate has taken out her claws. I am excited.
I plan to have the story wrapped up in the next couple of weeks and then work on getting a coupld of copies printed to hand out to family and friends as Christmas presents. Cannot wait to get input from them. I have been sending copies/updates to some of my FanFiction reviewers that have been following all of my stories since I first started to write. I am hoping that between them and I can get this done and edited.
Fingers crossed!!
Now on the FanFiction front: begin to look for me to start updating Right or Wrong over the Thanksgiving weekend. Now that I am not in a crunch to speed write an entire story I will begin to have more time on my hands!!
Well, I am right on target to hitting my 50k no promblem. By the end of day two I have surpassed 6700 words!! I have set up the background, introduced my main character and her family and friends, now the plot will begin to thicken adn I am so excited to get on with the bulk of the bones and muscle!! I have even been keepign up with a playlist!!!
The next scene that I will be working on today - synopsis: It will jump ahead to about two months later after her car accident and liver transplant. She has returned to school but is not feeling right. After all that she has been through she realizes that life is about to throw her another huge curve ball!
I will be posting the first chapter for you all to read, go check it out under my writings section. It will be up sometime today!
NaNo officially began at Midnight on Saturday November first and I actually surprised my self and stayed up a for an hour or so to typing out my first critcal scene, the openning scene and can I say that I love it. I can already see how my characters are changing and intereacting with each other. Eventually though I did go to sleep and woke up early to begin where I left off and completed my first 2700 words...only 47300 left give or a take a few. But I have the feeling that it will be much closer to the 75,000 word mark. For me to complete my goal, I will need to type a min. of 1666 words a day, but since those triple 6's are not very fun to look at I am aiming for no less than 2000!
If you are intersted in getting a small glimpse inside my first scne head over to my writing section and check them out!! I have the feeling you won't be dissappointed!!
